| The Harnett County Economic Development Commission, faced with a declining economy and the loss of more than 3,000 jobs, knew that an awesome web site was a critical element in attracting new and expanding industry to Harnett County, North Carolina. We wanted a site with a unique look and feel – a design that would distinguish Harnett County from its competition. We also wanted a site that could be updated and maintained internally. We wanted all of this (and much more) on a relatively small budget. We needed all of this (and much more) the day before we requested proposals. Our selection committee interviewed and received proposals from six web site design firms. Design Nation stood above the competition on all of our requirements -- delivery time, price and client management. Most importantly, they made innovative suggestions and offered creative ideas about the project. The project was awarded to Design Nation and completed on time, on budget and as smoothly as any project we have ever done. We were so pleased that Design Nation is currently working on its second project for Harnett County – redesigning the County’s primary site.The economic development site is live now. | During the period June 26-July 4, 1999, the world came to the Heart of Carolina during the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games ('99 Games). Over 30,000 guests from 120 countries visited the state to compete in a world class sporting event, educate the world about the capabilities of persons with mental retardation and promote global exchange and understanding.'99 Games organizers needed a web presence that could reach out to the world. During the time prior to the '99 Games, this web presence needed to be attractive but also pass information to the local volunteer base as well as athletes, coaches, administrators and visitors from around the globe. During the conduct of the Games, the site needed to be a 24 hour seven day a week source of information regarding games competition and associated events.The entire web presence was managed expertly by Design Nation. Simply put, the team at Design Nation exceeded '99 Games requirements at every step of the design, build and update process. Design Nation was not just a services supplier but part of our team.
